A prominent Igbanke man, Mr. Lawrence Ekuguem has donated a water borehole to his people in Igbanke, Orhionmwon local government area of Edo State to alleviate the perennial shortage of potable water in that community.
The donor, Mr. Lawrence Ekuguem, Managing Director, Mcsond Insurance Brokers Nigeria, said he was moved to donate the water borehole as part of his social responsibility having observed the deplorable absence of water in his community.
“I feel relieved of the constant burden on me to provide this water borehole for my people. It’s my little way to cushion the shortage of potable water in Igbanke”.
At the commissioning of the borehole in Igbanke on Easter Sunday, Mr. Lawrence Ekuguem, popularly known as Law Pascal stated that “as a well-meaning Edolite from Igbanke, I feel joyful in reaching out to people in need hence this water borehole and the sponsorship of Pascal Football Tournament 2025 which final holds today Easter Sunday”.
His friend and Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, Dr. Fidet Okhiria who commissioned the borehole commended the donor, Mr. Lawrence Ekuguem, (Law Pascal) for his benevolence and love for his people noting that such show of affection this Easter typifies what the risen Christ typifies.
Okhiria said the donation of the water borehole to the people of Igbanke by Mr. Ekuguem is a significant milestone that supports the Federal government’s efforts in meeting the needs of its citizenry especially in the current economic downturn emphasizing that anyone that offers water free gives life.
The Railway boss urged public spirited Nigerians, particularly those in positions of authority to always remember to contribute to the development and growth of their communities which in turn would also remember such efforts in due season.
“I call on other Nigerians across all endeavours of life to express selflessness by giving back to their communities in order to receive in whatever areas.”, he concluded.
Other prominent sons and daughters of Igbanke at the commissioning included Chief Monday Osagie, Mr. Smart Ugbekile a.k.a Tu Pac, Canada based businessman, where they equally commended the effort of Mr. Lawrence Ekuguem a.k.a Pascal for impacting Igbanke land noting that such efforts would not go unnoticed.
