Today, as we bid farewell to 2024, I want to celebrate a man who has profoundly impacted my life—a man who began as my boss and evolved into my godfather, Hon. Sunday Dare.

My relationship with Hon. Dare, is nothing short of a divine connection orchestrated by God.

It all began on that fateful day, September 7, 2019, when our paths crossed. From that moment, my journey has been like the proverbial golden fleece, filled with blessings, mentorship, and growth, all through God’s grace and the invaluable guidance of this great man.

During his tenure as the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, I was meticulous and committed to giving my best. That effort not only paid off professionally but also opened doors for me after his time in office. Remarkably, his support did not end with his tenure—he has continued to extend his hands of friendship and mentorship to me, shaping my path and pushing me toward greatness.

I was stunned by the depth of his commitment to my growth. Over time, this embodiment of greatness brought me closer, mentoring me, teaching me, and revealing profound truths about life. What a father! What a mentor!

Even when I stumbled, he was there, correcting me in love and guiding me with wisdom. His patience and understanding continue to leave me in awe. As I reflect on the past five years, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all that God has used him to do in my life.

The Jos-born administrator, is a man of extraordinary dedication, known for his hard work, sleepless nights, and unwavering sacrifice in the service of humanity. During his tenure as Minister, I witnessed firsthand his tireless efforts to develop sports in Nigeria. Late nights at the office—sometimes until running into the early hours of the next day—were common, as he worked relentlessly to ensure the success of the Ministry’s daily activities.

His passion for the growth of Nigeria’s youth and sports ecosystem was unmatched. His work ethic, humility, and determination to see others succeed were evident in every decision and action.

In his journey as a public servant, he has continually exemplified deep dedication to the nation through his service and shown how much of a firm believer he is, in the prosperity of Nigeria.

    **Lessons from a Remarkable Leader**

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned from Hon. Dare is his belief that money should never come first. He often said, “Work with passion, love what you do, and strive for success to make a name for yourself and your family.”

But perhaps the greatest lesson he imparted is that hard work always has its reward. His life exemplifies selflessness, dedication, and an unrelenting commitment to excellence.

I am privileged to have been mentored by a man I consider one of Nigeria’s finest public administrator. Being his protégé is a blessing I cherish deeply.

As we close out the year, I want to thank Hon. Sunday Dare, CON, for his impact on my life and countless others.

Sir, you are a blessing to your family, our nation, and everyone fortunate enough to cross your path.

May God continue to keep and bless you abundantly. I am forever grateful that your life and work have touched mine so positively.

Now in his role as the Special Adviser, on Media and Public Communication, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he has assumed another great responsibility to our great nation, and there is no doubt he’d excel in it, for the greater good of all.

*Take a bow, Hon. Sunday Dare, CON. You are truly one of a kind.*
