History of Shooting Stars:After Lekan Salami, it’s Baba Eleran Says 3SC

The chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club, Hon. Taiwo Lekan-Salami, has described the late number one supporter of the Oluyole Warrior, Pa Ganiyu Olayiwola Elekuru, whose death clocks 20 years, as phenomenal in the history of the traditional club.

The 3SC boss, who made this call while receiving the children of Baba Eleran at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex yesterday, preparatory to the 20-year remembrance anniversary of their father, averred that after the founder of the club, Chief Lekan Salami, Pa Elekuru will be mentioned next when writing the history of the Shooting Stars.

On the other hand, Hon. Taiwo promised on behalf of the club to play a major part in the celebration of the late Ibadan football legend, which is set for November 1, 2025, at the home of the late first chairman of the 3SC Supporters Club, Agbole Adelakun Awa compound, Elekuru House, across from Oja’ba Central Mosque, Ibadan.

“Baba Eleran had such a significant impact on Shooting Stars’ history that Pa Ganiyu Olayiwola Elekuru would be the next person that comes to mind when Chief Lekan Salami, the team’s founder, is mentioned. He was the perfect example of what it means to be a club’s martyred apostle,” said Hon. Taiwo Lekan-Salami

He added that the legacy left behind by Baba Eleran, it is clear that his unwavering dedication and passion for the team inspired countless fans and players. This commitment ensured that the spirit of Shooting Stars would endure for generations to come.
