In a pulsating N-Youth League Cup U19 match played on Wednesday, Grassrunners FC put on a show of footballing prowess, dismantling House of Prayer 3-1 in a convincing display of skill and teamwork.

The match, played at a frenetic pace, saw Grassrunners FC dictating the tempo from the onset. The opening goal came early, courtesy of Rasaq’s precision strike. The young wader’s shot was clinical, catching the House of Prayer goalkeeper off guard and setting the tone for the rest of the game.

As the game progressed, Grassrunners continued to push, with Lasisi doubling their lead in the second half. The midfielder’s powerful shot was the result of a well-worked move, showcasing Grassrunners’ attacking flair.

The final nail on the coffin came from Bolutife, who scored the third goal to seal Grassrunners’ victory. The striker’s movement and finishing were top-notch, leaving House of Prayer’s defense scrambling.

Grassrunners’ performance was a masterclass in attacking football, with the trio of Rasaq, Lasisi, and Bolutife leading the charge. Their chemistry on the pitch was evident, and it paid dividends in the end.

House of Prayer, on the other hand, struggled to cope with Grassrunners’ pace and skill. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to breach Grassrunners,’ defense, ultimately succumbing to a convincing defeat.

The win takes Grassrunners FC to the top of the table, while House of Prayer will need to regroup and reassess their strategy if they are to bounce back from this defeat.

Grassrunners will be away to Emuren FC in their next fixture on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

    – Grassrunners FC – 3 (Rasaq, Lasisi, Bolutife)
    – House of Prayer – 1
