    Governor Otti Appoints Dr. Sam Amadi to Lead Abia Electricity Reform

    Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has made a strategic appointment that could revolutionize the state’s electricity sector. Dr. Sam Amadi, a renowned economist and former Chairman of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has been appointed as the Chairman of the Abia Electricity Advisory Council. This move underscores Governor Otti’s commitment to leveraging expertise to drive development in Abia State.

    Dr. Sam Amadi is a policy strategist, law and governance expert with impressive credentials. He served as the pioneer Chairman and CEO of NERC from 2010 to 2015 and is currently the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts. His academic prowess is further highlighted by his role as a Visiting Professor at the Emerald Energy Institute, University of Port Harcourt.

    The council, established by Governor Otti, aims to provide expert guidance on electricity matters in Abia State. With Dr. Amadi at the helm, the council is poised to tackle the challenges facing the state’s power sector. Other members of the council include

    This appointment signals Governor Otti’s determination to improve Abia’s electricity infrastructure, a crucial step towards fostering economic growth and development. With Dr. Amadi’s expertise, the state can expect informed policy decisions and innovative solutions to its power sector challenges. The partnership between the state government and the advisory council may also attract investments and enhance the overall business environment in Abia State.
