The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Green-White-Green (GWG) Sports Center, Hon. Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe has been praised for displaying an uncommon kind gesture, by feting the team of players, representing Nigeria, at an ongoing International Table Tennis Federatiin ITTF-Africa Championships, in Tunisia.

Gara Gombe, who is on a business trip to Tunisia, visited the Nigerian team, at Rades (40 km away of Tunis) Multi-Sports Complex, and hosted the Nigerian contingent to a sumptuous launch, whilst giving the players extra motivation, on need to give their best at the prestigious continental event, and any other time they fly the banner of the country.

“As a proud and patriotic sports loving Nigerian, I’m deeply moved by the success of our teams across all sports. This table tennis team holds a special place in my heart, and seeing the young men and women representing our country with passion, inspires me to throw-in my own support and encouragement”, he told the players.

Gara-Gombe, the immediate past Chairman of the Gombe State Athletics Association also noted, “I’ve visited the venue twice to cheer the players on, and I felt they needed an extra boost of motivation. That’s why I decided to host them to a launch, and lift their spirits, help the team give their best for Nigeria. I’m truly impressed by their discipline and the way they’ve conducted themselves under the guidance of our legend, Segun Toriola”.

He expressed optimism, that his humble and token of support, would steer them to achieve more, and wished them success individually, and as a team, in all their remaining matches.

President of ITTF Africa, Wahid Enitan Oshodi expressed gratitude for Gara-Gombe’s thoughtfulness, and gesture, describing both as a morale booster for the team.

“We sincerely thank Mr. Gara-Gombe for taking time off his private visit, to be with the team over the past two days, cheering them on and encouraging them. His generous act of hosting the team to a delightful launch, in Tunis is both inspiring and uplifting”. Oshodi asserted.

The African Table Tennis Boss added that by that single gesture, Gara Gombe has broken ranks, and proved himself to be a passionate sports administrator, and a true friend of not only Nigerian table tennis, but a supporter of sports in general.
