Nigeria Flying Eagles secured a 2-1 victory over Egypt Under-20 in a friendly match ahead of the Under-20 AFCON. Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s side outplayed their opponents to claim a crucial win.

The match began with Nigeria taking the lead in the 10th minute through Kparibo Arierhi, who scored off an assist from Oliseh Divine. The Flying Eagles maintained their lead at halftime.

In the second half, Egypt showed resilience and equalized in the 65th minute through Ahmed Kaaba. However, the Flying Eagles quickly regained the lead when Divine Oliseh was fouled in the box, resulting in a penalty. Precious Benjamin converted the penalty expertly to give Nigeria a 2-1 lead, which they held onto until full time.

The win is a boost for the Flying Eagles as they prepare for the AFCON tournament, where they will begin their campaign against Tunisia on May 1.

The victory will likely give the team confidence heading into the main tournament.
