The highly anticipated pre-AFCON friendly between Nigeria and Egypt has been postponed to Tuesday, December 16, due to FIFA’s revised player release regulation. Initially scheduled for December 14, the game was rescheduled to accommodate key players like Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, who won’t be released by their clubs until December 15.
This friendly will now serve as a practice match, allowing both teams to utilize more than five substitutes. Kickoff is set for 8pm Egypt time (7pm Nigeria time) at the Cairo Stadium, though the venue might shift to Morocco.
The Super Eagles, in Group C, face Tanzania on December 23, Tunisia on December 27, and Uganda on December 30. Egypt, in Group B, takes on South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe .
