NIgeria senior female national basketball team the D’Tigress has been paired in what is regarded as “Group of Death” as they will face United States of America, host Nation, Belgium and Africa giants, Senegal in their FIBA Women’s Olympic qualification
The four-time consecutive Africa champions will have their hands full as they seek ticket to their second consecutive Olympic Games basketball event in Paris next year.
In the draw released Thursday, D’Tigress are paired in Group B of the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying tournament, and will be playing their games in Belgium.
The African champions will be up against USA, hosts Belgium, and their continental rivals Senegal.
The matches will be played from February 8-11, 2024.
It is no doubt a tough group, but a win might just be enough to send Nigeria to Paris Olympics.
Both the male and female teams qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games where they failed to win a single match.
In Tokyo, the D’Tigress were paired against host, Japan, USA and France.
