    Federation Cup: 3SC, Enyimba, Akwa Utd Booted Out

    Four times winners, Enyimba International of Aba, as well as Shooting Stars of Ibadan have been eliminated from the 2023 Federations Cup, as the round of 32 games were decided on Wednesday across different centers with a couple of upset recorded at some centers.

    NNL side Warri Wolves sent out Shooting Stars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, both teams failed to score within the regulation time and had to be separated by a penalty shootout, Warri Wolves eventually got the win by 4-3 to progress to the round of 16

    At the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, Nassarawa United who just got relegated from the NPFL put their poor performance in the league behind them to beat DMD FC by three goals to two to secure a place in the round of 16

    In Calabar, League leaders Bendel Insurance kept their hope of winning a domestic double alive after a narrow win over Ahudiya FC, Sarki scored the only goal that separated the two teams in the second half.

    At the Lokoja center, Sunshine Stars of Akure beat Standard FC by two goals to nil, Micheal Olalusi scored in the 13th and 77th minute to earn Sunshine Stars round of 16 ticket.

    In Benin City where Plateau United took on Enyimba FC, Plateau United came from 2 nil down to draw level at the end of the regulation time and eventually won the tie via penalty shootout by 3-2 to send out the Aba Elephants led by Finidi George

    Enough Rangers also got a win over Kano Pillars in Abuja to seal a place in the round of 16
