In memory of the late devoted supporter of the ShootingStarsSports Club, 3SC, Pa Ganiyu Olayiwola Elekuru, also known as Baba Eleran, his entire family is collaborating with the management of the Club, the Supporters Club, friends, and associates to celebrate 20 years of remembrance.

An anniversary prayer cum lecture, according to the ex Media Officer of the traditional side, Hon. Jubril Arowolo Are, will be held on the 1st of November 2025 at the residence of the late first chairman of the 3SC Supporters Club, Agbole Adelakun Awa compound, Elekuru House, opposite Oja’ba Central Mosque, Ibadan.

“We cannot quantify the legendary support Pa Elekuru provided for Shooting Stars during his days, as this event promises to honor his legacy while bringing together fans and community members who shared his passion for the team.

Attendees can look forward to insightful discussions and memories that highlight the impact of Pa Elekuru’s contributions to the club’s rich history,” said Arowolo-Are.
For over 50 years, the late Alhaji Ganiyu Elekuru, popularly known as Baba Eleran, devoted his life to Shooting Stars at the expense of his children. “Our father valued Shooting Stars more than his children during his lifetime. He was unable to train us in school but rather channelled all his resources to 3SC,” one of the deceased children noted.

The memory of Baba Eleran, who fell ill and died at the age of 77 on 1st November 2005, continues to live with the club and its supporters. His legacy, though marked by sacrifice, serves as a poignant reminder of the personal costs sometimes associated with unwavering dedication to a passion.
