Ex-Super Falcons Star, Madu, Backs Contract Extension For Waldrum

Maureen Madu, former Super Falcons star, has endorsed the contract extension of Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum.

Madugu stated that the American gaffer has done well, especially for the campaign of the nine-time African champions at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

As a result of the Round of 16 finish at Australia/New Zealand 2023, Madu believes that he deserves his contract extension with Nigeria’s senior women’s national team.

“I don’t know because he has done well at the World Cup. It is left for NFF to decide what they want,” Madu told Brila FM.

“If they want to give him a contract it is okay because he has done well and for continuity in that aspect.

“When somebody does well you have to appreciate the fact that the person has done something good.

“He did a very good job at the World Cup. It is good for them to continue with him.”

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) recently extended Waldrum’s contract for another year after the expiration of his contract with the Super Falcons last October.

The University of Pittsburgh coach is expected to take charge of the team’s charge to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics starting with a two-legged third-round tie with Cameroon.

He is also expected to be in charge of the team at the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
