Eight times Nigerian Champions, Enyimba International, have won their ninth Nigerian top flight by beating Rivers United to the title after their 1–1 draw at the last match of the Nigerian Premier League Super 6 in Lagos on Sunday.

Enyimba scored early in the night but Rivers United equalized through Nwagua at the start of the second half.

Enyimba topped the mini league on eight points, same as second placed Remo Stars and third placed Rivers United.

Enyimba took the lead through Ekene Awazie in the fourth minute after Rivers United fumbled in their vital area.

However, Nyima Nwagua responded for the defending champions two minutes into the second half and thereafter kept the pressure on the former African champions but Enyimba kept their cool to win their ninth domestic title.

Enyimba and Remo Stars will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League while Rivers United will campaign in the CAF Confederations Cup.
