The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun on Wednesday, took over the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, and vowed to secure Nigeria, as well as bring enduring peace to the country.
Egbetokun, who is the 22nd indigenous IGP in Nigeria, also promised to establish a robust internal system to investigate the misconduct of Police personnel.
He urged Nigerian citizens to cooperate with him in delivering on his promises.
Egbetokun, a doctorate degree holder, took over from the immediate past IGP Usman Alkali Baba, who was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021.
