All is now set for the second Edition of the prestigious and biggest youth Football tournament in Edo State, the Bright Osayi Samuel Football tournament.
The competition for under 13 Boys in Edo state and proudly sponsored by the Fenerbahce Fc of Turkey and Super Eagles Defender is organised by the Edo state Football Association and aims to promote grassroots Football development in Edo state as the Nigerian international gives back to the society.
As the organisers gear up for the 2025 edition of the event, the Edo FA has roll out the programs for the cadet championship.
Speaking to Edo FA media, Chairman Edo state Football Association, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse disclose that all is now set for this year event in honour of the Edo born super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi Samuel.
” Here we go again, you will agree me that the maiden edition was a blast, i am happy to inform us that the second edition of the biggest under 13 Football tournament in Edo state will begin April 22nd, 2025 with the Press Parley at the media centre of the Samuel ogbemudia stadium, We have also fixed the draw/Fixtures for April 25th, while the tournament is expected to kick off May 12th 2025 at a venue to be made known during the draws. The closing event is scheduled for June 28th 2025, the Press parley will help the public and participating teams regain the awareness of the tournament, we want to improve on want we achieved last year, we are grateful to osayi Samuel, the family ecpecially the dad for their support, the young man Bright osayi Samuel is committed to giving back to his community and promoting grassroots Football development, the Edo FA boss stated.
Expected at the Press Parley are members of the Edo state Football Association, stakeholders, Football coaches, Clubs owners/ representatives, the media and others.
It will be recalled that Edo Dynamo sports emerged champions of the the maiden Edition of the Bright Osayi Samuel Under 13 Football tournament in 2024 after earning a 1-0 win over Rising Stars Fc of Auchi, While Rockers Fc got the bronze at the expense of Ugbowo Bombers Fc following a 3-0 win, with the father of the cup donor Mr Nelson Osayi Present along side other family members to present trophies, medals, souvenirs and winning prizes to the various winners.
The tournament is part of efforts to nuture young Football talents in Edo state and provide a platform for them to gain valuable experience and exposure
