    Edo FA mourns demise of former south south zonal NFRA coordinator, Omorusi

    The Edo state Football Association is in mourning mood, following the demise of former chairman of the Edo state Football referees council, Supol Osaretin Omorusi Rtd.

    Describing his death as a rude shock, the Edo state Football Association chairman Fred Newtown Erhunmwunse said the passing away of the formal zonal coordinator of the NFRA at a time when his advice and support was needed not just for referees only but the game of football.

    ” Not again, this is shocking to me, this is happening at a time we needed Supol Omorusi’s advice and experience to move the profession and football forward in the country, he was a complete admistrator who has contributed so much to the development of football in Nigeria, we are going to miss him dearly, he was dedicated to duties and always ready to serve, may his gentle soul rest in Peace, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse stated.’

    The late Supol Osaretin Omorusi rtd, who died at 73, was a rtd FIFA referee, a two time chairman of the Edo state Football Referees council, former south south zonal coordinator of the NFRA, who won best referees award of year at a time. The late omorusi also serve as a member of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF/ NFRA) appointments committee.

    May his soul rest in peace.
