Edo FA Gets Branded Jerseys From Nigeria Breweries For State League Final
Ahead of the final match of the 2024 Edo state Football League slated for July 31st 2024 at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City, Nigeria Breweries plc has donated two sets of jerseys to the Edo state Football Association, organisers of the tournament.
In a colourful ceremony held at the office of Nigeria Breweries Plc Benin City, this week, the chairman of the Edo state Football Association, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse praised the effort of the Nigeria Breweries Plc for their support towards Sports in Nigeria expecially Football which was evident at the just concluded 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) were players of the man of the match for home teams were rewarded financially.
He ask the Nigeria Breweries Plc to extend their sponsorship deal to Edo FA to help encourage and develop the game of football in the state.
“We are here to thank Nigeria Breweries Plc for the support towards sports in Nigeria expecially Football, we have seen how players get financial reward for home teams during the just concluded NPFL season in Nigeria, this is commendable, we saw that during Bendel insurance fc matches here in Benin, and like Oliver twist we need your partnership with Edo FA to help develop the game of football in the state.

Responding, Mr Abiodun the Regional Trade Marketing Manager Nigeria Breweries Plc, Benin City who stood in for the Regional Business Manager Mr Lucky Ohiwo, welcome members of the Edo state Football Association led by the chairman Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, and commended their drive in developing Football in the state, adding that it is part of the Nigeria Breweries Plc to fully engaged in sports activities expecially Football.
” Like you rightly said, it is part of Nigeria Breweries Plc to fully engage in sports activities, most expecially Football, it is not new to us, recently we came in massively to support the teams in the NPFL with our Williams brand, the entire stadium was branded, we also rewarded man of the match at home games with 100k, 200k as the case may be.
” So it is part of our plans to support the youth, sports and also encourage everybody when it comes to sporting activities, this is part of what we are doing and I am glad we have you here, like you said, it is a journey and the journey didn’t start today, it is ongoing, we are ready to partner with Edo FA for the purpose of Football development in the state, he concluded.
The Chairman of the Edo state Football Association, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse use the occasion to present the Edo FA souvenir to the Nigeria Breweries Plc Regional Trade marketing manager.
Present at the ceremony, were the Regional Capability Manager of Nigeria Breweries Plc Mr Martins Orhivhabor the secretary Mrs Jennifer Okite, others include notable Board Members of the Edo state Football Association, Paul Ojeisekhoba, Mikhail igbinovia, Edo FA secretary Bisi Otupate, Assistant secretary Mrs Peace Kamson.
The Regional Trade Marketing manager of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Benin City Mr Abiodun later presented two sets of branded jerseys to the Edo FA boss for the Finalists of the 2024 Edo FA state league , with the closing ceremony fixed for Wednesday July 31st 2024 at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City beginning from 3pm.
