The President -General of Maritme Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi has admonished Muslim faithful to emulate the love life of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be Unto Him) and show the very significance of the Eid after the Ramadan fast.
The President -General of the Maritme Workers’ Union further said that the celebration of the Eid-Fitr must not be taken for granted after the long period of fast, which also demonstrates a period of purity and in commune with the Almighty Allah. He says that our our faith in the Almighty Allah will be incomplete if as Muslims, we cannot co-habit with our brothers and sisters of other faith and religion; reminding us that we are from one Creator of the Universe; hence, we all must accord each other the necessary mutual respect. And until we recognize this simple truth, peace will be difficult to come by but may God forbid.
He further explained that both religions, Islam and Christianity are from the same source of life; the Labour leader Activist went further to say that Prophet Mohammed came in his time preaching the gospel of Allah, demonstrating love, charity, and hope by practically exhibiting peace wherever he goes. The Ijaw born Maritme Expert says that the difference between the Muslims and other religions could vary in methods of worships, but all of them leads to the Almighty God; therefore, no one has the right of monopoly to take anyone’s life in the guise of helping Allah to winning souls. The Almighty Allah is the ultimate judge of every creature on earth and not a man in all his misdeed.
Comrade Bunu also extended his Eid felicitations to every Muslim across the globe, praying for the war victims, a needlss war that has engulfed the middle east; saying the war is just between two brothers and the needless war must stop to avoid further killings and destruction of property and humanity.
He further thanked all Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on this day and asked that those tormenting humanity in the North East and other parts of Nigeria and across the world must drop their arms and embrace peace; for just one reason of the philosophy of Prophet Mohammed, who came to propagate Islam, the religion of love and peace across the earth.
Comrade Bunu concluded by saluting all Muslims across the world during this year Eid-Fitr also advocating for a crime free society during the holy religious celebration.
