    Coco Gauff Wins 11th WTA Singles Title

    Coco Gauff made history by capturing her third WTA 1000 title and first in Wuhan, defeating fellow American Jessica Pegula 6-4, 7-5 in the all-American final.

    This victory marks Gauff’s 11th career WTA singles title and solidifies her position as a dominant force in women’s tennis.

    Gauff’s resilience was on full display as she rallied from two breaks down in the second set, ultimately winning four consecutive games to seal the victory. This impressive comeback cemented her status as a formidable opponent on the court.

    A Historic Achievement

    – First Woman in a Decade ::Gauff is the first woman in a decade to win nine consecutive hard-court finals, a feat last achieved by Serena Williams, who won 12 between the 2013 U.S. Open and 2015 Cincinnati.

    – Third WTA 1000 Title

    : This victory marks Gauff’s third WTA 1000 title, adding to her triumphs in Cincinnati (2023) and Beijing (2024)

    Mutual Respect and Admiration

    Gauff and Pegula shared heartfelt words during the trophy presentation, showcasing their mutual respect and admiration. “When I came on tour, you were one of the first people to be nice to me and welcome me with open arms,” Gauff said. “And that really goes a long way and still goes a long way.” Pegula, known for her tenacity on the court, earned praise from Gauff, who jokingly referred to her as the “three-set queen”
