Nyima Nwagua, the captain of Rivers United, has promised Nigeria football fans and their followers that the team will make it to the knockout stages of the CAF Confederations cup.
The skipper expressed satisfaction that his side picked all three points away from home against Acadèmica Petróleos Do Lobito at Estádio 11 de Novembro (Luanda) Angola.
When asked if the team can go all the way to the finals of the competition, he said: “In football anything can happen, however, my teammates and I will do everything within our powers and abilities to go all the way to the finals of the competition.”
Meanwhile, Rivers United need nothing but a win against Dreams FC of Ghana next weekend in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State for a possible qualification with 12 points on the log.
