It was a carnival of colours and joy yesterday in Ikwuano, Umuahia Local Government Area of Abia State, as veteran sports journalist Mr. Raymond Akparhuere tied the knot with Onyeyechi Okeiyi in a traditional wedding that brought together families and friends from Delta and Abia States.
The ceremony united both families in a vibrant display of culture and festivity. Guests from the local community, friends, and well-wishers gathered at Ukiyi Compound, Umuahia, to witness the joyous occasion. The bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chukwuemeka Okeiyi, officially handed over their daughter to the groom, a moment that drew applause and cheers from attendees.
In a touching moment, the bride’s elder brother, Emeka Okeiyi, a former footballer, expressed gratitude to God for the union and prayed for a life full of blessings and happiness for the newlyweds.
The event was further graced by notable personalities from the sports world, including Mr. Kennedy Onwunali, Secretary of the Sports Writers Association in the Southeast, alongside football and sports enthusiasts from across the region.
The celebration was a perfect blend of tradition, family, and community spirit, marking a new chapter in the lives of Mr. Raymond Akparhuere and Onyeyechi Okeiyi.
