Arda Guler continues to galvanize clubs into acquiring his signature as the teenage prospect is one of football’s brightest prospects, with a measly €17.5 million release clause.

A number of clubs are eyeing the player’s situation and Barcelona are thus facing ample competition in the race for Turkey’s young sensation.

According to Corriere dello Sport, via SPORT, although it’s not ruled out that Arda Guler stays at Fenerbahce for another season, next week could be crucial to decide his future. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and AC Milan are all in pole position to sign him.

Owing to such widespread interest in the player, Barça are necessitated to act quickly before one of the other competitors mentioned enter the scene with a more concrete offer.

Previously it was reported that the Catalans are facing a roadblock due to the enormous financial demands made by the player’s entourage, although his camp has rubbished those claims.

Given the club’s financial situation, Barça will be banking on the club’s prestige, the exciting project moving forward, and the opportunity to play for one of Europe’s most successful clubs appeals to the player more.

Last season, the 18-year-old made 20 Super Lig appearances for Fenerbahce, bagging three goals and setting up seven big scoring opportunities. There have been comparisons drawn to greats like Lionel Messi and Mesut Ozil due to his style of play.

But with next week reportedly crucial in the saga, the Blaugrana will have to swiftly clear the path for more signings, with exits critical at this point in time.

Barcelona are already facing complications acquiring Brozovic for a similar price tag of €23 million. Therefore, it will not be a surprise to see one of the other clubs come in and swoop the player away.
