–Sunday without Djokovic, Zverev through to square up with Sinner___
A torn muscle in his upper left leg was the case before Djokovic chose to admit there is a “chance” may have played at the tournament for the final time.
The boiling passion in Djokovic was one to look out for but the 37-year-old conceded the match immediately after rocketing a simple volley into the net on set point, and strangely booed by some sections of the crowd when walking off the court despite clearly struggling with the injury during the 82-minute opener.
The spectacular dramatic comeback win over Carlos Alcaraz in Tuesday’s quarter-finals was with a lot of pains for the Serbian which resulted in the Serbian’s underwhelming play as the injury caused him good bye to Australian Open. After Alcaraz defeat, Djokovic admitted he was emptied and had nothing left in the tank, leading to an unfruitful training on Wednesday or Thursday which was quite clear in the way he played his semi final and the injury ended his long time drive for a record of 25th grand slam title in Melbourne and cast doubt over his future, Djokovic insisted that he is determined to come back and compete for more trophies. “I’ll keep going. I’ll keep striving to win more slams,” he said. “And as long as I feel that I want to put up with all of this, I’ll be around.”
