Arsenal booked their place in the Champions League last 16 with a composed 3–1 victory over Inter at the San Siro on Tuesday, producing an efficient performance to confirm a top-two finish in the league phase.

The visitors made an encouraging start and were rewarded early when Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring after 10 minutes, reacting quickest inside the area to turn home from close range. Inter responded positively and drew level through Petar Sučić, whose powerful strike from distance left the goalkeeper with little chance.

Arsenal regained control before the interval, once again capitalising on a set-piece. Bukayo Saka’s corner caused problems in the Inter penalty area, and after Leandro Trossard’s header struck the crossbar, Jesus was well placed to convert the rebound and restore the lead.

Inter had opportunities to respond, with Marcus Thuram missing a notable chance before the break, but Arsenal managed the contest effectively in the second half. The Premier League side pressed with intent, with Saka continuing to pose a threat down the right flank.

The decisive moment arrived late in the match when substitute Viktor Gyökeres added a third goal. Introduced in place of Jesus, the forward finished confidently after collecting a well-weighted pass from Gabriel Martinelli, ensuring a comfortable conclusion for the visitors.

The result confirms Arsenal’s progress to the knockout stage and extends their strong run in the competition. While Inter recorded a high number of attempts on goal, Arsenal were more precise in key moments and made full use of their chances to see out a deserved win on a significant European night.
