Anthony Joshua’s recent car accident in Nigeria has left him shaken, and it’s reportedly influencing his decision to retire from boxing. The crash, which occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, claimed the lives of two of his close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele. Ghami was Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, while Ayodele was his personal trainer .

The emotional toll of losing these friends and colleagues is significant, and Joshua is struggling to come to terms with it. According to reports, he’s been seeing flashes of their faces, making it difficult for him to continue boxing. This emotional shock, rather than any physical injury, is driving his decision to retire early.Joshua, 36, is still considered young in the boxing world, and many expected him to have several more years of competition ahead of him. However, the trauma of the accident and the loss of his friends has changed his perspective. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, has expressed sadness and support for Joshua’s decision, acknowledging the profound impact of the tragedy on his life .
