Akujobi Dazzles Again For Almere City

    BY RAYMOND NWADUBA

Hamdi Akujobi delivered another masterclass performance for his modest Eredivisie side, Almere City of Netherland as they picked up a valuable away victory against Utrecht FC.
Almere is rooted in the bottom of the league table in 18th position, which they really needed a lifeline sort of in their quest to avoid the drop and what a way to get it at third placed Utrecht following their 0-1 win on Sunday evening.
At the centre of the hard – fought away victory is Hamdi Akujobi who was one of the stand out performers on the night.
The tough right wing back who battled all night with Sebastien Haller to keep him silenced, gave his best as always to draw commendation from the coaches, teammates and fans alike.
But a right -footed shot by Junior Kadile in the 28th minute which found its way straight into the left hand corner of the opponent’s net after receiving an assist from Charles Andreas Brym, was all that Almere needed to seal their victory.
All efforts by the hosts to equalize ended in futility as score remained 0-1 at full time.
Almere travel to Nijmegen in their next league game as they continue in their battle to stay afloat.
Another win on the road or even a point will be very crucial to Almere’s survival struggle.
