    AFCON: ‘We Did Not Beg For Money From President Tinubu’, SESC Scribe, Francis Aguh Clears Air

    The Secretary General of the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC), Francis Aguh has issued a disclaimer on some of dissidents that were allegedly using the name of the association to solicit funds from President Bola Hamed Tinubu, saying the National President of the SESC, Prince Vincent Okumagba has been the one responsible for the welfare of all the bonafide members moved from Nigeria to cheer the national team in Abidjan.

    Reacting to a publication from Cote d’Ivoire, the venue of the on-going 34th edition of AFCON, Francis Aguh disclosed to newsmen that It has come to their notice that some people are using the name of the Super Eagles Supporters Club of Nigeria to seek for money from the President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in support of the campaigns at the on-going.

    “We want to state categorically that the SESC registered and led by its National President, Prince Vincent Okumagba did not put out such publication and want to dissociate from such act. The Super Eagles Supporters Club led by Prince Okumagba are on ground supporting the Super Eagles of Nigeria, we are not hungry as  we are being financed one hundred percent by our National President, hence want to distance ourselves from such publication that is capable of tarnishing the image of Nigeria,” Francis Aguh noted.

    He however reiterated their commitment to offer an increased seal to support Eagles to victory in their subsequent games especially their quarter-final match against Angola on Friday

    Aguh urged Eagles to approach Angola’s game with all seriousness and determination in order to record a resounding victory. “We on our own part will give the necessary moral support from the stand like we have been doing in the past matches.”
