    Abdullahi leads Nigerian Archers to Cote D’Ivoire

    The President of Nigeria Archery Federation, His Royal Highness, Mohammed Baba Abdullahi, has expressed strong optimism that Nigeria will excel at the 2025 African Archery championship which began in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire this week.

    As the leader of Nigeria delegation to the championship, Abdullahi said the athletes representing Nigeria at the continental championship were carefully selected from a pool of the best hands in the country hence the optimism being expressed by the president .

    Apart from HRH, Mohammed Baba Abdullahi who led the team in his capacity as the President of the Nigeria Archery Federation (NAFED ), the Nigeria delegation also include, the first Vice President, Ambassador Chigbolu Obiefuna as the second official while

    Engr. Aliyu Abubakar gunning for the Compound Bow gold medal having qualified for the final .

    Damilola Sholademi, Engr. Aliyu Abubakar, Alexander Harry-Erin and Seun Ogunlana are the athletes.

    Nigeria is competing in three specialities, Compound Bow where team Captain, Aliyu Abubakar Garga, Damilola Sholademi and Engr. Aliyu Abubakar specialize , Alexander Harry-Erin and Ogunlana Seun are for Recurve Bow U-18 and Barbow respectively.

    The championship is not only providing a veritable platform for Nigerian athletes to test their skill and strength among their peers in the international sphere, but also to expose, expand, explore and export them to greater and higher opportunities available for plying their trades in the other climes.

    The weeklong African Championship which runs which started yesterday in Abidjan and enters day two today, will also enable the Archers an opportunity to be strongly positioned for other top ranking championships going forward.

    The athletes travelled with Air Cote D’ Ivoire.
    Only Damilola Sholademi joined the team from America.
    Meanwhile, Aliyu Abubakar today qualified for the final of the compound bow Competion where he will be battling out with his opponent from Mauritius .
