First, the game was withheld for a period of time, due to a head-on collusion between Abdulazeez Abubakar of Future Planners FC and the first choice goalkeeper Abdulraheem Mustapha of Chikason FC.

The keeper who was worse off, was given first aid by medics, before he was taken off, and straight to a nearby hospital for more medical attention.

With the scores at 3-3 after each side had taken five kicks, Chikason FC opted not to continue with the kicks, after Future Planners FC had scored their sixth kick, to lead 4-3.

The organizers subsequently awarded the game to Future Planners FC 4-3, and announced some sanctions against Chikason FC and its players.
