Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah gave Rangers International FC a big thank-you after they clinched the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League title.
At a special ceremony for the Flying Antelopes, he announced ₦150 million in cash rewards. ₦100 million goes to the players, while ₦50 million is for the management and officials.
He also said every player and management member will get a plot of land in Enugu, complete with a Certificate of Occupancy. That’s the state’s way of showing how much they value the team’s win.
Rangers had an outstanding season and finished top of the NPFL, putting Enugu back on the map as a football powerhouse.
Governor Mbah didn’t stop at money and land. He promised major upgrades to Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium too. The renovation will bring it up to CAF standards so Rangers can host their Champions League games at home next season. The stadium work also ties into preparations for the 2026 National Sports Festival, which Enugu will host as the “Coal City Games.”
