Agege Local Government Chairman, Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, has pledged to host the Lagos State Minifootball League as a test run for the newly completed world-class minifootball facilities in the area.

Obasa made the commitment while hosting the National President and members of the Nigeria Minifootball Association at his office. He led the delegation on a tour of the sports facilities and disclosed that construction of additional sports infrastructure is ongoing.

Obasa, who also serves as Chairman of the Lagos State Minifootball Association, said the maiden edition of the state league will serve as a platform to discover and prepare players for Team Lagos and Team Nigeria ahead of the Africa Minifootball Cup of Nations. Cameroon will host the women’s edition later this year, while Guinea Conakry will stage the men’s tournament in 2027.

The visit concluded with the presentation of minifootball souvenirs by the Secretary of the Nigeria Minifootball Association, Mr. Paul Maduakor.
