The Maritme Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the leadership of its President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi has lost one its own recently, Comrade Taofeek Dabiri, whom until his painful death was a Deputy President General (DPG) under the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) branch.

Comrade Dabiri until his death was such a jolly good fellow, whose life style does not reflect at all his tribe, given his mode of dressings from day to day until he fell ill that eventually claimed his life.

The late Comrade Dabiri was dark in complexion and lanky; and hi was every comrade’s delight, particularly his contemporaries at the high enchelon of the Union.

He was a comrade par excellence, who commanded dignity, he indeed earned his respect through his orderly behavior and good manners; he was just too respectful to his colleagues no matter the rank of such person. He was lovable and likeable by all and sundry. He had this adoring personality which was top notch which of course, you can not take away from late Comrade Dabiri’s quality of life, which is very most uncommon in humans; and his level of life and relationships with people amongst his colleagues is indescribable as it were.

Most Comrades in the Union, even visitors most times mistaken him for a man from the Niger-Delta or the Eastern part of Nigeria; Comrade Dabiri was a man of a rare quality taste, a very rare breed, whose presence anywhere lightens up the momentum of a place or gathering in a positive light.

The President -General of MWUN, Comrade Bunu, could not hold back his tears, looking waned within the short period he lost Comrade Dabiri, one of his reliable and trusted allies in the Union.

The Maritme Labour Activist and reformer, could not hold back his love for the departed Dabiri as he described him as a man of honour, who would always respond to his beck and call at any given time. The MWUN PG further said of Dabiri as a “Good Man”, whose exemplary life that cuts across boarders will be very difficult to erase from his memories and of the entire Maritme Workers’ Union officers and members even in years to come.

The Ijaw born Labour Activist says Comrade Dabiri will continue to remain ever-green in our memories as the Union carries out its daily activities. He prayed for the soul of the reposed Dabiri, while seeking mercy from the Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannah; while also
asking the Almighty God to preserve and have mercy over his immediate family which he left behind.
