Jude Odion Ighalo and Victor Osimhen, as well as football fans in the country, have joined professional footballers’ body, FIFPRO, in calling out the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over monies owed the women national team, the Super Falcons.

Nigeria and Napoli striker Osimhen, former striker Odion Jude Ighalo, as well as Super Falcons veteran, Desire Oparanozie, lend their voices in solidarity for the noble cause following FIFPRO’s official release.

FIFPRO described the team as “extremely frustrated” having to “pursue the Nigeria Football Federation for these payments before and during the (FIFA Women’s World Cup) tournament.”

The statement also cited how “regrettable it is that players needed to challenge their federation at such an important time in their careers.”

In response to the official release, Nigerian fans rallied behind the Super Falcons and FIFPRO’s call of support while calling out the NFF to do the needful before the issue gets out of hand.

“Pay them @thenffofficial,” Osimhen tweeted with a face-palm emoji depicting frustration.

“NFF never still stop these things,” Odion reiterated with the same dumbfounded emoji.

On her own, Desire Oparanozie commented on the post with the palms together and heart emoji depicting gratitude for the statement released by FIFPRO.

Responding to the Nigerian stars’ comments, another fan @QualityQuadry said, “Victor is kind shaa. NFF sef still dey owe @victorosimhen9 and co their match bonuses from the time of @PinnickAmaju!!.

In light of these developments, the Nigeria Football Federation dismissed the statement as “nothing more than a storm in a teacup,” reiterating that they had an earlier agreement with the players on what they would earn at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
