    JAGABAN CUP 2025: Eight Eminent Teams Set For Battle

    The pitch is getting higher and the pace, faster and exhilarating, too. As the organisers of the prestigious annual Jagaban football championship have finalised all arrangements for another edition of the eyes-popping and awe-inspiring 4-day football fiesta in Lagos.

    This year’s edition of the championship is scheduled to hold at the popular Legacy pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere. And with eight eminent football teams carefully selected on sporting merits, expected to battle for honours.

    According to the Chief Convener of the highly regarded football championship, Hajji Gafar Liameed, the championship is aimed at further engendering top quality professional virtues that includes discipline, determination, focus, zest and ambition, in the burgeoning careers of the young players in the championship.

    “It goes beyond just training and playing. This is a football championship that comes with very high demands and expectations, that aligns with best global professional football ethos ” Hajji Liameed explained.

    “Therefore, the eight teams participating in this championship have passed the barometer of measuring their readiness and the quality of play, their players would display in front of the experienced top European football scouts and agents expected to attend the games.

    The eight teams participating in this year’s Jagaban Cup which holds March 24-27, 2025, include, FC Bethel Sporting, 36 Lion FC, Broad City FC and Ikorodu City FC. Others are Dino Sporting FC, Ijebu United FC, Imperial FC and SGFC Athletics.
