Following the first Gold level meeting of the 2024 World Athletics Continental Tour in Melbourne, Australia, on 15 February, top tier competition resumes with the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi, Kenya, on 20 April.

More than 240 meetings are included in this year’s Continental Tour, which is divided into four levels – Gold, Silver, Bronze and Challenger. The status of each meeting is determined by the quality of competition and prize money on offer. In 2024 the tour’s top tier comprises 11 events spread across five of the six continental areas.

After the meeting in Nairobi, there are stops in Los Angeles in the USA (18 May), Tokyo in Japan (19 May) and Ostrava in Czechia (28 May).

As athletes continue their preparations to compete in the No.1 Olympic sport at the Games in Paris in August, the Gold tour will continue on to New York in the USA (9 June), Turku in Finland (18 June), Bydgoszcz in Poland (20 June), Hengelo in the Netherlands (7 July) and Szekesfehervar in Hungary (9 July).

Following the Olympics, Zagreb in Croatia will welcome athletes for the final Continental Tour Gold meeting of the season on 8 September.

Here is some key information to help with media coverage of the Gold level meetings.

In order to help you cover the Continental Tour Gold as a whole, the World Athletics Media Portal offers media services including a selection of images for editorial use, press releases, flash quotes and mixed zone interviews.
