Idowu “ID Burster” Rasheed who made his first international debut on Saturday, April 13th did an unimaginable by brutally destroying a more experienced Ghanaian, Bastie Samir in the second round to win the vacant Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) African Light-Heavyweight title belt at Kawukudi Park Nima, in Accra, Ghana.

Bastie Samir, who has a staggering Boxrec record of 20 wins one draw and one loss with 18 knockouts, got knocked down three times from the explosive jabs, hook blows and uppercut punches of ID Burster and was rushed to the clinic for immediate medical attention.

A mild drama ensued after the bout, when the Ghanaian’s referees and umpires that officiated the fight were attempting to rob the Nigerian boxer of his obvious victory while announcing the result, surprisingly declaring the bout as technical.

It took the intervention of the Secretary General of the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC), Remi Aboderin that called the attention of the President of Universal Boxing Organization with enough video evidence before the UBO via their official media handle overturned the results initially announced by Ghanaian officials and declared ID Burster winner.

The President of NBBofC Dr, Rafiu Ladipo while receiving the boxer of Aiyegbeni Boxing Club in Ibadan back to Nigeria on Monday described his achievement as a commendable one and a true Nigerian warrior who conquered his enemy right in his domain.

Dr Ladipo however explained that he will come to Ibadan to decorate the boxer with his title belt immediately the UBO African Light-Heavyweight title belt is sent to Nigeria by the promoter while congratulating the Chairman of Oyo State NBBofC, Hon. Gbenga Opaleye and the financier of the Aiyegbeni Boxing Club, Edna Aiyegbeni, daughter of the late famous Nigerian Boxing Promoter, Chief Francis Aiyegbeni.
