    5 Days to Go: 1st Edition of West Africa Zone A and B Para Games to Feature 10 Sports in Abeokuta

    Excitement is reaching its peak as Abeokuta, Ogun State, prepares to welcome the finest para athletes from across the sub-region for the 1st West Africa Zone A and B Para Games.

    Scheduled to take place from November 26 to December 4, the competition will be hosted at the iconic Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, further cementing Abeokuta’s status as the new hub for sports in Africa.

    This maiden edition will feature 10 para sports, showcasing exceptional talent, resilience, and competitive spirit.

    The sports include: Amputee Football, Para Swimming, Para Powerlifting, Para Table Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball, Seating Volleyball, Para Canoeing, Wheelchair Tennis, and Para Badminton. These events are expected to draw widespread attention, highlighting the growing strength and potential of para sports in West Africa.

    The West Africa Zone A and B Para Games represent a significant step toward strengthening regional unity, promoting inclusivity, and providing a platform for athletes with disabilities to shine on an international stage.

    With delegations from multiple countries set to arrive in a matter of days, local organisers have assured that all facilities, logistics, and security measures are fully in place to deliver a world-class event.
