Bayern Munich recorded a 2–1 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final, securing a narrow advantage ahead of the return fixture.

Both sides approached the contest with intensity, and the early stages reflected a balanced contest. Bayern created the first major opening when Harry Kane directed a header into the path of Dayot Upamecano, who was unable to convert from close range.

Real Madrid responded through quick transitions, as Arda Güler released Kylian Mbappé with a precise pass, but his effort was denied by Manuel Neuer. The Bayern goalkeeper continued to play a decisive role, producing further saves to stop attempts from Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior.

At first Half, The opening goal arrived shortly before halftime following a well-constructed attacking move. Serge Gnabry delivered a decisive through pass that split the defence, allowing Luis Díaz to collect the ball and finish accurately past Andriy Lunin.

At Second Half, Bayern extended their lead almost immediately after the restart. Michael Olise advanced with a controlled run before providing a pass to Harry Kane, who struck from the edge of the area to make it 2–0.

Real Madrid attempted to regain control of the match through increased attacking play. Vinícius Júnior came close after capitalising on a defensive error by Dayot Upamecano but was unable to convert after rounding Manuel Neuer. Additional efforts from Kylian Mbappé also went narrowly off target.

Sustained pressure from the home side eventually resulted in a goal. Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered a low cross into the penalty area, which was met by Kylian Mbappé, whose finish crossed the line despite an attempt from Manuel Neuer to prevent it.
