    2026 Jagaban Cup: Defending Champs SGFC Athletics Eliminated, As Tourney Enter Day 3

    The Jagaban Cup group stage progressed with an exciting series of matches. During the four games played, a total of 3 goals were scored, resulting in the elimination of the defending champions, SGFC Athletics.

    Below is a summary of the matches that took place at the Legacy Pitch on Friday morning;

    SGFC Athletics 0-1 FC Bethel

    The defending champions of the Jagaban Cup, SGFC Athletics, were eliminated from the tournament after suffering a 0-1 defeat to FC Bethel.

    Tijani Ridwan found the right corner of the net to secure the winning goal.

    Smart City 0-1 Mavlon FC

    Mavlon FC outmaneuvered the ineffective Smart City, winning 0-1 thanks to Ifeanyi Onyene’s goal in the 40th minute.

    Klassisc FC 0-0 36 Lion

    The match between Klassisc FC and 36 Lion concluded in a draw, as neither team was able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities.

    Broad City 1-0 Ikorodu City

    In a contest between two cities, Broad City triumphed over Ikorodu City with a score of 1-0, with Emmanuel Udeogu netting the only goal of the match.
