As the sixth edition of the ongoing 2025 Olona Unity Cup tournament in Onicha-Olona, Aniocha North local government area of Delta State approaches it’s climax on Wednesday 31st December 2025, the 2025 runners up, Ogbekenu quarters, is set to square up against Ogbe-Obi quarters for the coveted winners trophy .
The Third place match will be decided by defending champions , Umuolo quarters and Ishiekpe quarters , on Tuesday 30th December 2025 at the Ultra modern Donald Ochei Stadium, Onicha Olona, venue of the tournament.
Defending champions , Umuolo quarters, had , in the first semi final played on Monday 28th December 2025, lost by a lone goal, to rivals Ogbekenu quarters, whom they defeated by a 75th minute lone goal strike in the 2024 final, while Ishiekpe quarters lost the second semi final played same day , to Ogbe-Obi quarters, via a 5 -4 penalty shoot out , after the match ended one goal apiece at full time
The sixth Olona Unity Cup tournament 2025 which is proudly sponsored by Speaker emeritus of the Delta State House of Assembly and current President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation ( NTF), Rt Hon ( Engr) Victor Onyekachi Ochei , MNSE, Esq, has so far lived up to its billing as a talent hunt, social integration and unity hub for the Onicha Olona community .
The six quarters of Olona community , namely Idumuje Olona, Agba, Ishiekpe, Ogbekenu, Umuolo and Ogbe-Obi, actively participated in the group league stages up to the knockout stages that has produced finalists and third place match competitors
The Donald Ochei Ultra modern Stadium , Onicha Olona, built and completed by Rt Hon Victor Ochei, is expected to be graced by sports loving enthusiasts , youths and community leaders at the Wednesday 31st December cup final match which will also attract mouth watering prize monies for the winner , runner up and third placed team , as well as individual prizes for the most valuable player and best team of the tournament , among others.
