Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress are now in the French City of Lille, for their third and final preparatory game, against their Japanese counterparts.
Having lost to Germany and Serbia in their first two friendly games, and ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympic games that begins on Friday, the reigning African Champions will look to redeem themselves while playing Japan tomorrow.
Before the trip to Lille, D’Tigress had been camping in Berlin, Germany where they trained under the watchful eyes of the Coach Rena Wakama crew.
Wednesday’s final tune-up game against Japan is scheduled for 8 pm, in the iconic city of Lille, France.
Despite being imperious on the African continent, winning the Women’s Afrobasket for the fourth time in a row now, Nigeria’s D’Tigress are yet to win a game at the Olympics, and having been drawn in Group B alongside heavyweights like Australia and Canada, as well as the hosts of the Olympics, France; Rena Wakama and her charges have got their work in Paris clearly cut out for them.
