Asaba, the Delta state capitol is agog as the maiden National Teqball tour is set to begin.
The local organizing committee, LOC of the 2023 Bet9ja Delta state national teqball tour has expressed confidence that they will host a world-class event as the tour commences this Thursday inside the indoor sports complex of the Stephen Keshi stadium.
Chairman of the Delta State Teqball, Mr. Dick Marvel said all 16 clubs have arrived the state capital and all logistics are ready for a successful event.
Evening is ready, all logistics have been put in place for a successful event, we want to assure the participating clubs and every one of a world-class event, Marvel Dick stated.
The head of communication Mr. Promise Uwaeme said the tournament will feature five categories, male single, male double, female singles, female double and mix-double.
Uwaeme also stated that winners will share a whopping 3,000 U.S. dollars at the end of the championship.
Meanwhile, the secretary of Delta State Teqball Mr. Eddy Ogbemudia said the paucity of the fund is a major problem but thank bet9ja, Delta State and other sponsors for their wonderful support for the event.
He said the National body of Teqball is working very hard to see the event as a scoring ( medal sport) in the next National sports festival that will take place in Ogun State in 2024.
