Athletic Federation of Nigeria (AFN) will on Friday (today) release Nigerian entries
for the ongoing 13th African
Games in Ghana.
SportsDay gathered that the release would
afford stakeholders of the
sport the chance to examine
the chances of Team Nigeria
at the Games as regards athletics.
However, the coach of
Consider Enakem may not
be in AFN technical Team as
the Technical Director of the
AFN said it’s not compulsory
for him to be on the list.
It will be recalled that Minister of Sports Development,
John Enoch, had charged
Team Nigeria athletes and
their officials to be at the top
of their sports and ensure podium finishes for the country.
The minister also charged
the athletes to put in their
very best and bring honours
to the country.
At the 12th edition of the
African Games held in Rabat, Morocco, Nigeria placed
second on the overall medals
table.
Team Nigeria athletes are expected to do better
than they did at the last edition of the Games.
