    10 Years of Breaking Barriers: Ladies in Sports International Summit Celebrates Women Empowerment

    The Ladies in Sports International (LIS) is set to host its 10th-anniversary summit, marking a decade of promoting female participation and excellence in sports. The two-day event will take place on June 12th and 13th, 2025, at the Balmoral Event Center in Ikeja, Lagos.

    The summit promises to be an impactful and unforgettable experience, featuring inspiring panel sessions, workshops, exhibitions, and a mini concert. The event will also provide opportunities for networking and collaboration among women in sports.Key government officials, including Nekechi Obi, Chairman of the Nigerian Women’s Football League Board, and members of the Nigerian Cricket Federation’s record-breaking U-19 World Cup women’s team, are expected to attend.

    Bridget  Oyefeso-Odusami, Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, expressed pride in supporting the summit, saying, “We are proud to support the 10th anniversary of the Ladies in Sports Int’l Summit, a vital platform that continues to champion inclusion, empowerment, and excellence for women in sports across Nigeria and beyond.”Tega Onojaife, Founder of Ladies in Sports, stated, “We are thrilled to host this event, which aligns with our decade-long mission to empower women through sports. Our goal is to provide a supportive and educational environment where women can come together, learn, and inspire one another.”

    The LIS International has made significant strides in promoting women’s empowerment in sports, having given grants to over 20 Nigerian women athletes and educated women with skills and tools for their careers. The event is proudly supported by Stanbic IBTC, with media partnership by Smooth 98.1FM, Silverbird TV, and Yanga FM.
