As the search for talented Nigerian players who can fit into the national team set up continues, two Nigerian brothers of same parents have continued to make waves in Sweden, with Gif Sundsvall Academy and have been impressive with their performances at the Sundsvall city based Academy
The youngsters who were given births to in Sweden to an Edo state born ex Footballer Mr and mrs Bruce Elvis Kennedy are seen as the next big thing to happen to the game of Football in Europe.
The duo who joined Sundsvall Academy at age 6, are Zion Kennedy ( 17) a central defender and Zebedee Kennedy ( 15) a prolific striker just like his dad who made his mark as a striker with Golden Academical and Esan United both in uromi, Edo state, Nigeria, before heading to italy were he played in the lower division with Ponteroca Fc, PH Calcio and Pioppe Fc until 2020.
Speaking from his base in Sweden, the elated Bruce expressed Pride in his sons progress and praised Gif Sundsvall Academy for their development, while applauding the management, coaches and staffs of the Academy for the great job.
Recently, Zion Kennedy 17, was given a three contract with Gif Sundsvall in the Swedish League, following his impressive performance, while gifted striker Zebedee Kennedy who turn 15 this year has been invited to try out with Swedish Premier League Leaders Mjallby.
Meanwhile,Gif Sundsvall Manager, Benny Matsson who has been working with Zion and Zebedee for sometimes to improve their development, has heap praises on the talented Nigerians but believe strongly that Gif Sundsvall is the right place for the Nigerian duo to develop their skills despite numerous interest from other clubs.
With the progress made by the youngsters, the parents of the fast rising Nigerians in Europe have said, it is a dream come true for their children expecially Zebedee who has now been invited to Mjallby.
According to a Nigeria Football Agent, Harry who is a keen follower of Nigeria youngster across Europe, said the progress made by this gifted brothers zion and Zebedee in sweden is a huge leap for their career, hoping they get the attention of Nigeria age grade national teams in the future as both players have the potentials to prove themselves if given the opportunity, but however stated that the youngsters should concentrate on the job at hand for now because they have huge abilities and potentials to succeed in Europe.
