In continuation of its series of public sensitisation, enlightenment and education on the need for Compliance to road safety laws and regulations, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency TRACE, Ifo Divisional Command, organised a visitation to Pakoto Junior High School in Ifo, on Monday 17, July, to deliver road safety sensitisation training and introduce the TRACE Road Safety Club.
The TRACE team was led by Oyebola Michael, Divisional Commander of Ifo Division, representing AC Ebunoluwa Akinkunmi, the Area 9 Commander, said, “As part of measures to minimise the rate of accidents involving road users on the road with particular reference to students who constitute a large part of the pedestrian population, we are here today to start a series of Schools Sensitisation programme.
“It is also in a bid to enlist students into the  TRACE Road Safety Club, in line with our goal to ‘Catch Them Young’, using the Pakoto Junior High School as a pilot scheme, using the opportunity to directly meet and interact with students for enlightenment, and to provide answers to pertinent questions that may be bothering their young minds on traffic matters and related issues.”
The team was welcomed by the school management who assembled the students to receive lectures on; the Meaning of Road Safety, Types of Road Users, Identifying Road Signs, Road Safety tips, Techniques in Crossing Pupils on the Road and the Need for Reflective Clothes at Night, followed by several questions from the students who got satisfactory responses from the TRACE team.
The Divisional Commander was accompanied to the School by Akinbobola Folorunsho, Head of Operations, Afolabi Micheal Patrol Leader, Adebiyi Kafayat, Enlightenment officer and Awuah Ayodele, Administratives officer.
