Iga Swiatek came from behind to defeat Ekaterina Alexandrova 1-6 7-6(3) 7-5 and claim the Korea Open title. The world number two struggled in the early stages, committing multiple double faults and hitting several shots out of bounds. However, Swiatek regrouped and adjusted her game to overcome her opponent’s strong play.
After over two and a half hours of intense competition, Swiatek emerged victorious, securing her third title of the year. Her previous wins include Wimbledon and the Cincinnati Open.
Swiatek humbly attributed her victory to perseverance, saying, “Honestly, I don’t know how I won it, because you were just playing great. I just tried to stay alive.”
