    SWAN Praises Taiwo Awoniyi For Donating Car To Member

    Recent gesture of Nottingham Forest and Super Eagle ace, Taiwo Awoniyi, in gifting one of Nigeria’s broadcast doyen, Mallam Bayour Issah, with a brand new car and cash gift has been discribed as something extraordinary by Sports journalists under the aigis of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter.

    Speaking via a press release on the development, Mall. Ismail Ayodeji, chairman, SWAN, Kwara, said that Awoniyi has once again, like times without number, demonstrated his good nature and deep respect and appreciation for the media.

    He commended the Super Eagle striker for presenting the car gift to the veteran sports journalist.

    Mallam Bayour Issah on Friday celebrates his his 58th birthday and the footballer thought to honour the journalist with the gift.

    SWAN chairman stated that Taiwo Awoniyi has always put smiles on the faces of Kwarans through his football activities and philanthropic gestures

    “I want to, on behalf of SWAN, thank Super Eagles Striker, Taiwo Awoniyi for celebrating Mallam Bayour Issah in a big way.

    “His gift to our legend has shown he knows the importance of media in sports promotion.

    “Taiwo Awoniyi is second to none when compared to his contemporaries in the state and his name is currently the tune on the lips of many young aspiring Kwarans beyond the football constituency.

    “This is not just because of his outstanding sacrifices and contributions towards lifting hundreds if not thousands out of poverty, but also his immense contribution to game and the national team.

    “History will always remember Awoniyi for his good deeds; posterity will judge him well and rank him one of the heroes and champions of humanity”, Ayodeji said.

    The chairman also used the opportunity to thank other goodhearted people who have made the celebration of Mall Issah special.
