The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the Ogun Women Run, with the Sports Commissioner expressing the administration’s unwavering support for the event.

The fourth edition of the Ogun Women Run is set to be a spectacular event, thanks to the continued partnership between Brussel Sports Management Limited and the Ogun State Government.

“We are deeply grateful to the Ogun State Government for the tremendous support given to the Ogun Women Run since its inception,” said Mrs. Yetunde Johnson, Managing Director of Brussel Sports Management Limited. “The government’s commitment to sports development has provided the foundation for the race to grow steadily over the years, and we are confident that with this continued partnership, the fourth edition will be even more successful.”

The Sports Commissioner, in a show of support, commended Mrs. Johnson and her team for their vision and dedication to promoting women’s participation in sports. “The Ogun Women Run is a commendable platform for promoting women’s participation in sports and encouraging healthy lifestyles,” he said. “The administration of Dapo Abiodun remains fully committed to initiatives that promote sports development and community engagement across the state.”

The Commissioner also highlighted Ogun State’s growing reputation as a hub for major sporting events, citing preparations for the 2025 National Sports Festival, the Confederation of African Athletics U-18 and U-20 Championships, and the West Africa Para Games. “The Ogun State Government remains open to initiatives that will further develop sports and create opportunities for our people,” he said. “Events like the Ogun Women Run align with our vision of using sports as a tool for empowerment, unity, and improved wellbeing.”

With the government’s backing, the stage is set for an unforgettable 2026 edition, one that promises to exceed expectations and further solidify Ogun State’s position as a premier destination for sports in Nigeria.
