Following the sudden ouster of the  highly rated Edo Queens Football Club of Benin from the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League NWFL Super Six in Asaba, Delta state,  head coach of the team, Moses Aduku, has apologize to the government and people of Edo State over failure of the team to deliver.
According to him:” First and foremost, I must tender an apology to the State government and the entire sports loving people of Edo State over the team’s inability to reach the finals of this prestigious championship. It is highly regrettable and I take responsibility for it. I’m indeed very very sorry, I can’t just explain what really happened to the team,  it is  just unfortunate that it went  this way.”
” I’m really in love with Edo State, Edo State  government is highly responsible and supportive, particularly His Excellency Rt.Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, his love for sports in Nigeria is superb. If you ask for  my opinion, I would say he should be appointed as Nigeria Sports Minister. His passion for Sports is great. He has done a lot for sports. If we have persons like that saddled with the responsibility of taking Nigeria sports to the peak, Nigerians will enjoyed the benefits of sports.”
“I know we missed it in the first game against Confluence Queens, this was supposed to be Super Six but we played Super two. Despite our superlative display and incessant attack on  Delta Queens in our last group  game, there was no goal to reward for our efforts. We had chances of taking the lead, but finishing was our problem. All the same, we thank God. It was a great experience, Aduku posited’.
For Edo Queens, they were the most prepared NWFL club side and one of the best managed Women Football Club in the land. The commitment of the State  government was 100% the only women team that travel by air for match engagement across the country.  The State government provided all that the team needed to excel. In terms  of excellent management, the government must be commended.
